WHO WE ARE
The Democratic Women of Macon County (DWMC) is a chapter of the Democratic Women of North Carolina, and is dedicated to engaging women with the work of the Democratic Party. The DWMC works closely with the Macon County Democratic Party to elect Democrats up and down the ticket.
OUR OBJECTIVES

To support local and state Democratic candidates who fight for policies that improve our community.

To get women to vote, and to encourage and support women who run for office.

To inform the Macon County community on key issues affecting quality education, healthcare, affordable housing, preservation of our library, homelessness, and drug prevention/treatment initiatives.

To make sure women have a seat at the table and a voice in decision making within the Macon County Democratic Party and the North Carolina Democratic Party.

To get involved in grassroots, voter outreach, and community building activities.
OUR HISTORY
The Democratic Women of Macon County is a chapter of the Democratic Women of North Carolina which was founded in 1961. In addition to political action, we are also engaged in many Macon County charitable efforts.

OUR MEETINGS
Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month and includes informative speakers and open discussions to further the goals of the DWMC. For more information on time and location, click here.
